The leaked video was shared on YouTube by 13th Vessel, and it shows early in-development footage from Kingdom Hearts 3, confirming that Final Fantasy Versus XIII models were used as placeholders for Yozora, Nameless Star, and others. Additionally, the same individual shared details from the leaked Kingdom Hearts 3 Premium Showcase files on Twitter/X, revealing that a world themed after Disney’s Cars was originally considered for the game.

The Twitter/X user also shared screenshots from Kingdom Hearts 3 per-production footage that was obtained via the Premium Showcase. The aforementioned screenshots can be seen below.

Furthermore, they also mentioned that they found the Japanese text “カーズ（仮)” in the Kingdom Hearts 3 world list. The text translates to “Cars (tentative).” They stated that they were unable to any resources from the Cars world, though, according to them, there are more references to it in the files. They also found some in-development video files from the Frozen world and gameplay tests, which can be seen in their video. The mention of “tentative” suggests that plans for a world themed after Disney’s Cars was under consideration early during development. It didn’t make its way into the final game, however.

When Kingdom Hearts 3 launched in 2019, fans were quick to notice an in-game video advert for a video game called Verum Rex. It was introduced as a trailer and looked similar to Final Fantasy Versus XIII. However, it was hinted in the game’s secret ending that there may be more to the story than just a simple advert. The ReMind DLC later confirmed that that the worlds of Verum Rex and Kingdom Hearts are connected in some capacity. Game director Tetsuya Nomura hinted at some unexpected developments occurring in the future.

Kingdom Hearts III Update 1.10 Patch Notes

• After turning on EZ Codes (Battle Codes) and PRO Codes in the Premium Menu, the number of active codes will appear on-screen during play.

While the Xbox One owners can’t play the new DLC for now, it is available only for the PlayStation 4. ReMind DLC adds new content including expanding the end-game, adding new bosses, playable characters, and makes various other tweaks.

Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind DLC has received a brand new trailer to celebrate the release date announcement. This trailer also gives a look at the new secret scenario which hints at a boss fight with Yoroza, the mysterious protagonist that was spotted in the main game.

The official PlayStation Store has listed the DLC for pre-order on PS4. It will be released on January 23 for PS4 and February 28 for Xbox One. The pricing has two different tiers with the standard edition priced at $29.99 and a special bundle with Kingdom Hearts Concert priced at $39.99.

Those who pre-order the game from the PlayStation Store can enjoy a ReMind theme for their PS4. According to the official Twitter account for the game, the following content is confirmed to be a part of Kingdom Hearts III ReMind DLC.

Square Enix has also announced a free Kingdom Hearts III update 1.07 that will add two new Keyblades and a form for Sora. They are the Oathkeeper and Oblivion Keyblades that will be available in the game after installing the new update.

Here are some of the new additions for the DLC that were confirmed today.

• Photo Mode
• Slideshow Mode
• Fast Pass Mode
• “Black Code”

Photo Mode is a new gameplay mechanic that lets the player take Photos of any of the lead cast in the chosen setting and add props and background effects to them. This is then taken to the Slideshow mode that can be used to add background music, transitions, camera effects to build a slideshow of photos that are taken in the game.

The gameplay altering options are Fast Pass mode and Black Code mode. As it was described, Fast Past mode will let the player one-shot kill enemies and allow them to stack multiple attractions or spells that can be executed to combat enemies. Black Code is more of a custom difficulty that makes the game extra hard.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is getting a major expansion called ReMind. This one will add a new secret episode, new playable characters and some new scenarios with boss fights. The new trailer debuted at Tokyo Game Show 2019 and has teased the content that is expected in this DLC.

From the trailer, we can see that there will be multiplayer playable characters and there is a focus on boss fights too. There is a full new DLC episode that has been kept under wraps and it hasn’t been shown in any capacity so far.

Square Enix first revealed that a DLC will be added to the game after its launch in an interview with the game director Tetsuya Nomura. Kingdom Hearts 3 also has a secret ending that hints at the future for the series. The current story arc might be done but there are still a lot of unanswered questions left for fans.

As for the release date of the ReMind DLC or the pricing, there hasn’t been any information shared on it by Square Enix. It is expected that it will be fairly budget priced release considering this is how Square Enix supported Final Fantasy XV after its launch.

Tetsuya Nomura was prominently featured in this week’s Japanese magazine Famitsu. He had an interview done for Final Fantasy VII Remake and he had another one present for Kingdom Hearts III.

During the interview, we learn about the recently revealed Kingdom Hearts III ReMind DLC and it was basically confirmed that the length of the DLC itself will be equal to the new content that is usually added in the Final Mix version of the previous Kingdom Hearts games.

In the first trailer, most of the fights that were shown were from the additional scenario available with the DLC. It doesn’t include any footage from the Limit Cut episode, which is the main new content.

Sora will get his OathKeeper keyblade as a free DLC that will launch with this new paid add-on once it is out later this Winter. The amount of bosses that they are aiming to include in Kingdom Hearts III ReMind DLC is the same as any Final Mix version of the game. This is in addition to there being a secret episode that has its own bosses.

The release date for the DLC is not decided yet but they don’t want it to launch close to the Final Fantasy VII Remake, which will be out on March 3, 2020. They are targetting a Winter 2019 release window which can mean November 2019 to January 2020.

The multiple playable characters have to be unlocked by progressing through the additional scenario which includes Roxas, Aqua, and Riku. This scenario can be played standalone and doesn’t require you to finish the game.

Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind DLC will offer new boss fights, a new playable scenario and secret episode in addition to different playable characters. The first trailer for this upcoming DLC seems to showcase boss fights from the end of the game with a lack of new areas but that might be intentional.

Square Enix confirmed this DLC after the launch of the game and has supposed it with a free content update that adds Critical mode difficulty. This new DLC will also release with more free content updates adding a weapon and more.

The game was released after almost a decade of the last mainline entry in the series and managed to become the fastest selling in the series. It shipped through more than five million copies within its debut week.

The trailer for ReMind DLC teases new story cutscenes and shows playable version for Roxas, Aqua and Riku. You can also see the mysterious character, Master of Masters, speaking to a young Xenohart in the trailer. There will be some new keyblade transformations as well.

Fans can expect the following content in the future for Kingdom Hearts 3 which includes this ReMind DLC. It will be out later this Winter for PS4 and Xbox One.

Nier Automata was released in March 2017 and has continued to show strong legs. It has now managed to sell more than four million copies worldwide. It received a Game of the Year edition release for the Xbox One and was also re-launched for PC and PS4 with a bundle that included all of the post-release DLC.

Kingdom Hearts 3 shipped five million copies within its debut week and has continued to perform well for Square Enix. They have plans to expand the sales of the game with post-launch DLC, the first of which was just announced by the game director Tetsuya Nomura.

Left Alive is another recent game released by Square Enix that turned out to be disappointing in term of both critical and commercial success. Square Enix is also seeing subscription for games like Final Fantasy XIV remain stable. Octopath Traveler sales remained stable and they have recently announced a PC version of the game.

Lastly, we learn that Square Enix is not expecting any big game releases until the second half of their fiscal year. One of the rumored games that might release during this time is Final Fantasy VII Remake and they just showcased it during State of Play stream held by Sony. It is possible that they will also announce their Avengers project at the upcoming E3 2019.

Kingdom Hearts III is getting an additional scenario called “Re:MIND” which might be the final mix version of Kingdom Hearts 3. It is a paid DLC that will add a new story scenario, limit episode, and secret episode. Each of these will come with new boss fights. There will be an option for English VO.

There is free DLC coming to the game as well. It is not something story related but a new Keyblade and new Form, so it might not have as much of an impact as the paid DLC.

Tetsuya Nomura shared the details of this DLC at the recently held Kingdom Hearts Orchestra event. He didn’t reveal any release date or price for this new DLC but from the details that we know so far, this is going to be Kingdom Hearts 3 Final Mix.

We already knew before the game launched that there will be DLC for it, and the secret ending hints at the future of the series so it was not going to end soon. As for the additional scenario, it has been named “Re:MIND” and not Final Mix like the previous Kingdom Hearts games. The developers have also released a critical mode update recently for Kingdom Hearts 3.

Critical Mode in Kingdom Hearts 3 should solve the issue of the easy difficulty that was one of the main complaints by long-time fans of the series. Despite offering a proud mode, the lackluster difficulty in the game meant there was a need to offer a more challenging difficulty.

What Is Critical Mode in Kingdom Hearts III?

Right now, there is not much known about this mode. We do know that it will offer new abilities that are designed to be more competitive and aimed at skilled players. These abilities and other gameplay tweaks should hopefully improve the combat system which was considered as button-mashing combat due to the easy difficulty.

Critical Mode is not something new for Kingdom Hearts 3. It has been included in some of the previous games like Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix. Players can take more damage in this mode, deal lower damage, changes are made to the abilities and AP requirements, and there are a lot of other balance adjustments made to make the game more challenging. It is good for veterans of the series but newcomers might find it difficult.

When Will Critical Mode Release For Kingdom Hearts III?

Kingdom Hearts 3 game director Tetsuya Nomura has shared a message on Twitter where he announced the Critical Mode update for the game. He, unfortunately, didn’t give an exact time frame on when this update–which will be Kingdom Hearts 3 update 1.04 if we go by the PS4 version–releases tomorrow.

As the tweet shows, this might be a different type of Critical Mode than what was available in the previous games. The exact list of changes is still not confirmed but once the update is out, we will likely get a list along with it.

Kingdom Hearts III was the fastest selling game in the series and has shipped 5 million copies so far. It also included a secret ending that teased at the future for the franchise.
