Xbox Game Studios and Playground Games’ racing game, Forza Horizon 5, will require a Microsoft Account in order to play on PS5.

The official Forza Motorsport website has been updated with an FAQ for the upcoming PlayStation 5 version of the fifth entry in the Forza Horizon series. According to the details shared, in addition to a PSN account, players will need to link to a Microsoft account in order to play Forza Horizon 5 on PS5. This process begins the first time the game is booted up on the console.

Forza horizon 5 ps5 microsoft account

Upon launching Forza Horizon 5 on PS5, players will be asked to sign-in with their Microsoft account and link it to the PlayStation Network account they log into on their console. Linking a Microsoft account to a PSN account is on a title-by-title basis and permanent. Players have the ability to unlink the Microsoft account to that PSN account, for Forza Horizon 5, but will be constrained to re-linking to only that specific and originally linked Microsoft account.

Furthermore, the FAQ clarified that Forza Horizon 5 for PS5 will not carry over save files from versions of the game released on other platforms. This is also the same behavior between the Xbox and Steam versions, where game files are separate and not synchronized. Players can, however, publish User Generated Content (UGC) on one platform and download it to play on another. However, they won’t be able to edit it unless they’re playing on the save profile it was originally created on. PS5 players can also enjoy all the UGC shared by other players from the Xbox and Steam versions of Forza Horizon 5. Additionally, some online statistics, such as leaderboard scores, are synchronized if players log into the game using the same Microsoft account.

Forza Horizon 5 set for release for PS5 on April 29, 2025. Early Access for players who pre-order the Premium Edition starts on April 25, 2025.

The world map for the latest expansion to Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 5, Rally Adventure, has been revealed.

In the latest official news update for Forza Horizon 5, the world map set to be featured in the Rally Adventure expansion has been revealed. The expansion is set in Sierra Nueva during the summer “wet” season.

Forza horizon 5 rally adventure world map

With the world map already available, players can get an early glimpse at the diverse biomes on offer and begin plotting out their Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure. Fans won’t have to wait long for the arrival of Forza Horizon 5’s latest expansion, as Rally Adventure’s release is less than four weeks away. Those looking to play day one can pre-order the expansion for $19.99 or get it with the Premium Add-Ons Bundle, which is 40% off in the Microsoft Store until April 3.

Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure will introduce players to the quaint town of Pueblo Artza. It’s located in the heart of Sierra Nueva and surrounded by tall, lush hills and spectacular rock formations. Meanwhile, Asphalt Rally drivers will look forward to tackling the technical roads of the Desert Gorge. In this region, players will discover big scale views, swirling roads, massive rock formations patterned with unique striations, and a terrain engraved with a unique personality thanks to its Horizon-inspired murals.

On the other hand, the untamed open spaces in the Green Hills are full of vibrant plant life, towering rock terrain and a crystal-clear stream of water. Meanwhile, Palm Forest features plenty of nearby dirt trails primed for dust kicking and a beautiful, large waterfall and stream located off the beaten path. The Abandoned Quarry, as the name implies, will have players blitz through the machinery, sloped terrain and piles of dirt. Lastly, the Rugged Dunes have sand everywhere. Players will find deformable sand roads interwoven with pre-deformed tire tracks, as well as some hidden surprises, including a Bike Track ideal for short-burst Trophy Truck racing and the small town of Cráteres Secos nestled within a large crater.

Forza Horizon 5 is still running on an old iteration of the game engine that supports cross-generation releases, so how well does it look now?

Playground Games has mastered the art of open-world racing games and continues to deliver with Forza Horizon 5, which is another critical hit from them. The game is playable on Xbox Game Pass on day one, so which platform is ideal to get the best experience out of it?

The game runs at 1080p on Xbox One and 4K on Xbox One X. Both of the last-generation consoles only appear to support 30 FPS. When it comes to the current-generation consoles, the game runs at 4K at 60 FPS on the Xbox Series X and 1080p at 60 FPS on the Xbox Series S. There is also an enhanced quality mode available on these consoles offering better visuals at the expense of performance. You get 4K at 30 FPS on the Xbox Series X and 1440p at 30 FPS on the Xbox Series S.

If you want to get the best visual quality and performance, obviously you need to settle on a PC. You will need something beefy like an RTX 3080 to max out the game at 4K, but if you don’t have the budget for it, you can get an Xbox Series X that can match the high quality of the PC version at 4K when using the 30 FPS mode.

If you drop down to the performance mode, you will enjoy a much better experience at the cost of lower graphical settings, but this might not be a big deal since the performance improvements feel a lot more immersive than simple visual tweaks.

Forza Horizon 5 is set to launch on November 9, 2021, for the PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. You can get the game early by playing the Premium Edition while it will drop on Game Pass on launch around November 9.

Forza Horizon 5 PC system requirements were shared by Playground Games. Have a look at them to find out if your PC can run it.

Forza Horizon 4 was a well-optimized game that could run on a variety of PCs, so the same should be expected from its successor. While the truth is not out yet since the game won’t launch until later in November, we can try to have an idea through the PC system requirements.

Here are some details on the PC version shared by Playground Games on their website.

Forza Horizon 5 is built from the ground up on PC to deliver the open road in extraordinary detail at limitless speeds. What’s more, the game is fitted with a vast array of graphics settings to tweak and adjust the experience as you see fit. Unlock the framerate, crank up the visuals to 4K, enable HDR for more luminous lighting or expand the field-of-view.

The PC version of Forza Horizon 5 also supports 21:9 ultrawide displays for further immersion, as well as the most popular steering wheels from Logitech, Thrustmaster and Fanatec.

  • Logitech: Driving Force, G25, G27, G29, G920, G923PS, G923XB, Momo
  • Thrustmaster: Ferrari 458, T150 RS, T300 RS, T500 RS, TMX, T-GT, TS-XW, TX, TS-PC
  • Fanatec: V1, V2, V2.5, CSL, CSL DD, DD1, DD2, Universal HUB device

Additionally, haptic feedback on the Xbox Wireless Controller is supported by all versions of Forza Horizon 5, including Steam for the first time!

While ray-tracing support was also confirmed, just like Gran Turismo 7, it will be limited to the Photo mode only. In Forza Horizon 5, this is called the Forzavista mode. You can take gorgeous pictures of your cars with all the bells and whistles in this mode.

The game will be available for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series on November 5, 2021. It will launch on the same day for all Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

Playground Games have given a full glimpse at the world map for the upcoming Forza Horizon 5. The game is confirmed to launch later in November.

Forza Horizon 5 is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. The game is being developed by Playground Games. In a live stream recently, the developers confirmed that the world map size is 1.5 larger than Forza Horizon 4. They also shared the complete world map on their official social media account.

Forza Horizon 5 World Map Size

In contrast, the global map in Forza Horizon 4 was equal in size to its predecessor, but we now have a world map that is 50 percent larger. The game’s setting will have seasons, but they won’t be as dramatic as in Forza Horizon 4. Expect to observe environmental changes as the seasons change, although Mexico is famed for its Summer season, so that will be the main focus.

Forza Horizon 5 offers a diverse range of Biomes from Canyon and Jungle to Urban City and Volcano. They were shown in various screenshots by the developers.

Someone on reddit had calculated the map size of Forza Horizon 4, estimated that it was roughly 71,46 km2 or 27,59 mi2. If we go by this size, Forza Horizon 5 will roughly be more than 10,719 km2 or 41,38 mi2.

Forza Horizon 5 will also launch on Game Pass. It will be released for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. The release date is set for November 5, 2021.

Forza Horizon 5 will take the crown in the series for being the largest game in terms of file size. The game will release this November for Xbox and PC.

Forza Horizon 5 was recently revealed at the Microsoft+Bethesda Games showcase during E3 2021. The game is confirmed to arrive on November 9, 2021, and will be released for Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.

According to the Microsoft Store, the file size of the game is 80 GB. This a big jump over its predecessors and this doesn’t even count any of the updates that will likely add more to the file size.

For a comparison, Forza Horizon required under 10 GB of hard disk space. Forza Horizon 2 was the first game to launch on the Xbox One and required 35 GB of space. It was followed by Forza Horizon 3 required 46 GB and Horizon 4 at 63 GB. Now that we are getting another generational upgrade with Forza Horizon 5, the file size requirements have jumped as well. The game now requires 80 GB of disk space for PC and Xbox consoles.

There are three different editions of the game available for pre-order. The standard edition will be available to play on Xbox Game Pass on day one while there is also an early access version with the Premium edition that comes with a Car and Expansion pass containing two additional expansions. This version offers early access to the game on November 5 compared to the launch on November 9.

Microsoft recently revealed Forza Horizon 5 for the Xbox One and Xbox Series in addition to PC. The game will support 60 FPS on the current-gen consoles.

Forza Horizon 5 is the next game in the critically and commercially successful Horizon spin-off based on the Forza Motorsport franchise. The next game is coming to the last and current-generation consoles in addition to PC. The official FAQ for the game had mentioned that there will be two gameplay modes: Performance and Visuals.

Performance mode will offer 60 FPS on the current-generation consoles but the resolution of the game was not confirmed in the FAQ. As for the visual mode, it will limit the frame rate to 30 FPS but run at 4K resolution on the Xbox Series X.

In an update on Twitter, Mike Brown, who is the creative director of Forza Horizon 5, has confirmed the resolution for both of these consoles. In the case of the Xbox Series S, it will run at 1080p and 60 FPS while in the case of the Xbox Series X, it will run at 4K at 60 FPS. While the director didn’t elaborate further on this, it could be dynamic 4K and 1080p resolution just like in the previous game.

The game will be available on November 9, 2021, and available on Xbox Game Pass on day one. It is being developed by Playground Games.
