The new update for Just Cause 4 appears to have fixed the dynamic resolution scaling on PS5. Previously, the game was running worse on the PS5 than it did on a regular PS4. It was a bug in the dynamic resolution scaling solution implemented in the game, that appears to have been fixed in the new update.

The patch notes seen for the Just Cause update 1.32 mention this fix only, and we decided to take it for a test ride.

Cutscenes don’t appear to show any improvement in the game, but there is a chance that they might be pre-rendered. They still exhibit all the low-resolution, aliasing, and color banding issues but this problem is also seen on the PC version as well.

The actual gameplay gets a slight improvement in the clarity with the resolution. For example, in the opening mission, the draw distance appears to be a little clear and the aliasing is less noticeable now than it was before the update. What hasn’t changed though are the visuals. We had to find out videos of the game running on the PC version at the max quality to believe they were bad by design and not a bug or hardware issue.

Seriously, the visuals of Just Cause 4 feel like they are stuck somewhere in between a PS3 and PS4 game, so we hope the next game by Avalanche Studios ditches their in-house engine or at least fixes these terrible visuals. They were also a problem in Just Cause 3, but to a lesser extent than in Just Cause 4.

When the game was supported on the PS5, it was a buggy version because of the dynamic resolution scaling issue. This meant that the game was stuck running at a lower resolution, possibly 720p at 30 FPS. This wasn’t patched until recently.

Because the last update was almost two years ago, this is a miracle that the game has been patched in the first place. We are not sure about it, but if the Xbox Series version was suffering from the same problem, it should have been patched as well. If there is no such patch on the Xbox Series, then either the game had no issues there, or the patch is not out yet.

Avalanche Studios is currently working on Contraband, which is an exclusive game for the Xbox and PC. It was revealed during the E3 2021press conference by Microsoft. They haven’t shared any plans of continuing with the Just Cause series so we have to wait and see what happens next. There is a new mobile game in development as well.

Sony will reveal the official PS Now lineup later this week but ahead of their announcement, the following games have leaked as part of PS Now April 2020 games lineup.

This leak comes courtesy of ResetERA user Lant_War who discovered this ad on JeuxVideo, a popular gaming website in France. This add teased the three games that are being added to the PS Now subscription service.

Sony has yet to comment on this leaked games lineup but they have previously released God of War and Uncharted 4 on their subscription service. Marvel’s Spider-Man might be their most successful game released so far this generation, but it doesn’t mean they can’t release it on PS Now to boost the games library.

Just Cause 4 users can now purchase the Sea Dogs Vehicle Pack which has been added as part of a new content update that was released today.

The new Sea Dogs Vehicle Pack contains the following new vehicles.

Gunpower Galleon (SS Borracho): Send your enemies to the bottom of the ocean with the fully working front and side canons. This Galleon is just as fast on land as it is on the high seas!

Armored Hovercraft (Hellbender): Built to withstand heavy fire, this behemoth of a vehicle can take on any military unit! The armored hovercraft comes fully loaded with a heavy canon and heat-seeking missiles!

This is not the only new thing that has been implemented with the new update. Avalanche Studios has updated Rico’s default outfit and implemented some bug fixes.

The game has now implemented new Blackmarket and Challenge features. One of the bugs that have been confirmed to be fixed with the patch is related to replenishment delivery. There are other unspecified bug fixes included in the update.

If you want to get the new vehicles, you can grab the Sea Dogs Vehicle Pack for $3.50. Avalanche Studios has also released a couple of Story DLC for Just Cause 4 which are a part of its Season Pass. The story DLC out now includes Los Demonios and Danger Rising, both of which can be bought individually or as a part of the season pass.

Just Cause 4 is getting its last piece of DLC with the Danger Rising expansion. This expansion adds a new way to travel by bringing in a hoverboard for Rico. There is a new gravity-defying gun added in the expansion called The Stormalong EM Zero. This update has apparently added a new location to the world map as discovered on reddit.

Danger Rising is the third DLC for Just Cause 4. The previous one was Lost Demonois which was also released along with an update to the game.

Demon Rising DLC will launch on August 29th for the Gold Edition and Expansion Pass owners of Just Cause 4. For those who want to purchase the DLC separately, they will have to wait until September 5th when it will be available individually from the season pass.

Just Cause 4 update 1.30 also includes some other changes as mentioned in the patch notes.

Earlier this May, Avalanche Studios had announced a brand new DLC for Just Cause 4 with the title Los Demonios. It was supposed to arrive this Summer. While the DLC is still not available yet, the update to add support for it has gone live across PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

What Is Just Cause 4 Los Demonios DLC?

Here is an official description of the DLC along with the announcement trailer. It seems to add some new story content to the game.

A demonic infestation spreads across the island, terrorizing its inhabitants. Rico must tackle a new threat and send the demons back from whence they came!

Xbox Game Pass has been a rather generous service from Microsoft adding new games and old ones every month. There is no limit to how many games can be added in a single month as we saw with the December games lineup. Microsoft has continued to add games to the Xbox Game Pass library, but sometimes, they also remove them from the service.

In addition to confirming Just Cause 4 for Xbox Game Pass March 2019 lineup, Microsoft also shared that Fallout 4 will return back to the subscription service. It was available on it in the past but was taken out after a specific period of time. They are now bringing it back starting this month. Fallout 4 will be available on March 14 along with F1 2018. The rest of the games are already live now.

Just Cause 4 is bringing the craziness of its open-world sandbox gameplay in early December for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game adds a new weather mechanic which can result in Tornados and Thunderstorms appearing as a threat to the users. They also result in new possibilities of killing the enemies or wreaking havoc all over the world.

The new Just Cause 4 trailer is completely live-action and shows a group of soldiers who were just hurt due to the main protagonist destroying their base, explaining to their commander what happened to them. It was a good way to get the point across to the general users who have no idea of the Just Cause series.

Just Cause 4 is currently confirmed for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It follows the events from Just Cause 3 although it is also playable on its own due to the self-contained story. The previous game was notorious for having frame rate issues so this new one might be interesting to observe in term of the performance at launch.

Just Cause 4 will be out on December 4th. It is being developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Square Enix.
